Privacy
This site is a one-author history project. It collects a modest amount of information about visits, mainly so the author can tell whether the work is being read. This page explains what is collected, why, who else is involved, and how to ask for your information to be removed.
What is collected
When you visit this site, standard technical information is recorded automatically:
- Your IP address and general device information, such as your browser and operating system.
- An approximate location — typically country, region, and city — estimated from your IP address. This is not your device’s precise location, which the site never requests.
- Usage information — the pages you view, the site that referred you, and how you arrived.
- Activity on the site — downloads of the book or screenplay, audio played on /listen, and terms entered into the search on /sources.
If you write to the author through the contact form, the name, email address, and message you provide are stored, along with the technical information described above.
How it is used
This information is used to understand readership and how people find and use the site, to operate and secure it, to respond to messages sent through the contact form, and to measure advertising.
Cookies and advertising
This site does not set cookies of its own. It does use your browser’s local storage to remember your reading position and how far into a chapter you have listened; that stays on your device and is cleared when you clear your browser data.
The site does carry Google advertising and measurement services, including Google Ads and Google AdSense. These may set their own cookies and identifiers, and may use information about your visit here and elsewhere to measure and personalise advertising, under Google’s own policies rather than the author’s. You can manage or opt out of personalised advertising at Google My Ad Center. Blocking these scripts with browser settings or an ad blocker will not affect anything you came here to read.
Service providers
The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, which necessarily processes requests to it and provides analytics on traffic and performance. Google provides the advertising and measurement services described above. Each handles information under its own privacy policy.
What is not done
- Information collected here is not sold, rented, or traded.
- There are no accounts, logins, or passwords, and no payment information is collected.
- Your precise device location is never requested or collected.
- Nothing collected here is used to train machine-learning models.
How long it is kept
Information is kept for as long as it remains useful for the purposes described above. There is no fixed deletion schedule; you may ask at any time for information relating to you to be deleted, and it will be.
Your choices and rights
Regardless of where you live, you may ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to Admin@nosuchclaim.com; it helps to include the approximate date of your visit. There is no charge, and no request of this kind will be refused.
You can also limit what is collected: manage advertising through Google My Ad Center, and use private browsing, a VPN, or tracking protection if you prefer. Everything on this site can be read without any of it.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult readership and is not directed at children under 13. Information is not knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child’s information has been collected here, write to the address below and it will be deleted.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page will be updated and the date below will change with it.
