What is reserved
The author’s original contributions to this work are protected by copyright and are not in the public domain. These include, without limitation:
- the manuscript — all narrative prose, structure, and editorial voice (the text at /read and /people, and the EPUB and PDF editions);
- the screenplay and the two novels — all their text, structure, and their editions (/screen, /apekonit, /novel);
- the original figures, maps, and SVG artwork, and the plate compositions;
- the website design, templates, styles, and source code;
- the research storehouse as a compilation — the original selection, arrangement, distillation, annotation, and commentary of the facts, sources, and personae, even where the underlying facts are themselves public.
No part of these original contributions may be reproduced, distributed, adapted, publicly performed, or used to train machine-learning models, in any form or by any means, without the author’s prior written permission. The author retains all commercial rights, including the exclusive right to sell, license, and publish this work in any medium. Reading the work online is free; that free access is not a license to copy or reuse it.
Ideas, facts, and history are free
This notice reserves the author’s expression and his compilation — the actual words, artwork, code, and the particular way the record here is selected and arranged.
